Known affectionately as the "Mother of Orphans," Dr. Sindhutai Sapkal emerged from a life of extreme poverty and struggle to become a beacon of hope for the abandoned.
Having faced homelessness herself, she dedicated over 45 years to nurturing thousands of orphaned children.
Her journey from the streets to being a recipient of the Padma Shri is a testament to the power of resilience and motherly love.
